About Sanford Levine

I was born in Wabash Indiana. But moved to Nashville Tennessee at the tender age of 18. My family was always big on creativity and Music, so naturally I wanted to follow in my family's footsteps. I was always extremely proud of all of them for their creative talents!

Everyone in my family sings and are songwriters, artists and craftsmen. My mother and her siblings were all gospel singers, were known by many churches in different states as well as Indiana as The Staggs Family Quartet. My mother played piano and sang in the family group, sews designs quilts and we ran a family craft business in which we did juried art and craft shows in diff counties and states around Indiana as I was growing up.

Daddy played guitar, sang in the family group, made macrame crafts and woodworks. He was an artist from the age of 18 and on through his life, did many paintings. One of my favorite styles he used to do all the time was cute little dogs on black velvet. Oh what I would give for one of those paintings these days! I'll have to create some I guess in my gallery hint, hint!

grandma quilted always hosted quilting groups, sang and led the church for alter call, cooked for hundreds of people, grew huge gardens for everyone and canned fresh produce straight from the garden every Fall! (Fond Memories)

Grandpa was a pastor, also sang and founded Free Will Baptist churches in Indiana, built many churches from the ground floor up with his own hands when the congregation got too big. He is featured for this in History books. Grandpa's Uncle Ervin Staggs wrote a famous song called Acres of Diamonds that was a hit song on the Country charts, now a standard in Country Gospel music, In Nashville it's still featured by many of the famous Grand Ole Opry Singers today!

On my Daddy's side of the family we have a couple of famous Cousins in music, Crystal Gayle and Loretta Lynn. I have always enjoyed spending time with them over the years even crafting with Loretta and of course our family has made Arts and Crafts for their gift shops Loretta had a gift shop on her Dude Ranch, which was always a delight at Christmas, we helped her stock her gift shop for her fans and made crafts with her, and for Crystal I made her some fancy China Bed Dolls with big ole frilly dresses for display in her Crystal shop (for display only), they were collectors.
I also made one of those for TG Shepherd's wife in the beginning of my creative journeys. As you can see I had great inspirations growing up and I have a lot of joy and pride in my awesome family!

I have several of my Original songs up on all the musical platforms, and now I finally have my art going! I'm so excited! I promised the Heavenly Father in prayer one day when my health took a nosedive that I would from that day forward use all of my skills and talents that he has created and sewn in me to honor and celebrate those gifts, to be all he wanted me to be! I am passionate about the gifts he gives us all and I feel so blessed to be sharing them with you today. If you keep up with my blog you will see what I am creating as I'm creating it! Email me, or follow, comment and share your opinions and ideas for my work, and what you have going on in your life, I can't wait to start our friendship!
